Our Values: Faith, Stewardship & Community

How we honor God on the trails

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” — Psalm 24:1

1) Our Foundation

We believe the outdoors is God’s creation — and how we travel through it matters. Our behavior reflects our faith, and we want to represent Christ well to every other trail user we meet.

  • • Stewardship over entitlement
  • • Humility over ego
  • • Service over self
  • • Safety over show

2) Leave No Trace Principles (with a Christian lens)

These principles protect trail access and preserve the beauty God made. They’re practical and measurable — and they’re also a great way to love your neighbor.

1. Plan Ahead & Prepare
Wise stewardship reduces risk and prevents damage.
2. Travel & Camp on Durable Surfaces
Protect creation by staying on designated routes and surfaces.
3. Dispose of Waste Properly
Leave it better than found — pack it in, pack it out.
4. Leave What You Find
It’s not ours to take — preserve the place for the next family.
5. Minimize Campfire Impact
Use fire responsibly, follow restrictions, and leave no scars.
6. Respect Wildlife
These are God’s creatures — observe, don’t harass.
7. Be Considerate of Others
Love your neighbor: yield, slow down, keep noise reasonable, and be kind.

3) Trail Etiquette

On the trail

  • • Stay on designated routes
  • • Control speed and dust
  • • Yield appropriately (know local rules)
  • • Keep distance on climbs and descents

Access & property

  • • Respect private property and closures
  • • Close gates behind you
  • • Don’t widen trails around obstacles
  • • Follow permits and seasonal rules

Mechanical Grace: Helping a stranger with a recovery, a tool, or encouragement is one of the best ways to show Christ on the trail.

4) Community Standards

Different clubs set different standards — but these guidelines keep rides welcoming, safe, and faith-forward.

  • • Family-friendly language and behavior
  • • Welcoming to all skill levels
  • • Respect for local regulations
  • • Safety is never optional
  • • Many Christian clubs choose alcohol-free rides

5) Tread Lightly! Partnership

Responsible recreation protects access for future families. If you’re new, Tread Lightly! is a great starting point for learning how to wheel responsibly.

We Trail Differently

Faith changes how we drive, how we recover others, how we respect the land, and how we treat strangers. May our trail presence point people to Jesus.

See you on the trails.
